Principal's Message

Dear Parents, Teachers, Students, Administrators, and Community:

We are elated to greet you for the 2020-2021 school year with our Virtual Learning Platform.  The faculty and staff at David Williams, Jr. Career and Technical Center are dedicated to training all of our scholars for careers and how to use skills obtained to further their education. ALL CTE programs prepare students for college and careers through rigorous curricula aligned to labor market demands. Our focus is teaching, learning and safety.

The mission of David Williams, Jr. Career and Technical Center is to equip students with the education and skills to achieve career excellence by bridging the gap between academics and career focused education.  The vision is to operate as a team to fulfill our mission to prepare students for college and a career.  Our goals for this year are:  (1) to increase students’ district average scores on the MSCPAS test based on our data analysis (2) to increase parental involvement by 25%; and (3) to increase the number of students joining Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO’s) by 5%.  We are here to assist students with job training, mandated testing (ACT, SATP, MAP and MSCPAS), college applications, scholarships, job placement, meaningful job shadowing experience, and community service projects.

We are so proud of our students at David Williams, Jr. Career and Technical Center who have decided to enroll in a CTE program.  The following quote says it best:  “Each student is a unique person and a powerful learner capable of great achievement.  I truly marvel at any students’ capacity for learning, accomplishment, and growth.”  ~Michelle Forman
