The Tunica County School District  is now accepting applications for multiple positions for the 2024-2025 School Year.

The Literacy Based Promotion Act (LBPA) was enacted to improve the reading skills of Kindergarten through Grade 3 students enrolled in public schools so that every student completing the 3rd grade is able to read at or above grade level. This report displays the components required underMS Code 37-177-17 of the LBPA, which include the number and percentage of students: scoring at each performance level on the state assessment in reading and math, taking the alternative assessments (retest) , being retained at each grade level Kindergarten through 8th grade, passing for good-cause exemptions; and any revised district policies for promotion and retention. DWJCTC Recognize FBLA Competition Winners

On February 2, 2024, David Williams Career and Technical Center FBLA students went to the District Conference in Booneville, MS where they were able to compete with other students in the areas of Accounting I, Business Ethics, and Computer Problem Solving. During that competition Kayden Rosebur placed 2nd in Accounting I, ZeDarrius Johnson placed 4th in Computer Problem Solving and Kenniya Rucker and Brianna Sayles placed 4th in Business Ethics.

Those four students advanced to the State Conference which was held April 2-4 in Tupelo, MS, where they also placed. Kayben Rosebur was 2nd in State, Ze'Darrius Johnson 4th in State, and Kenniya and Brianna 6th in State.  With those results, the top 4 students advanced to Nationals.

Kaydeb Rosebur (2) and Ze'Darrius Johnson (4) are eligible to compete Nationally in Orlando, FL!
